It had been awhile since he'd taken on a sub much less been with one for more than a few hours of play. The last one he'd come close to collaring had asked permission to end their relationship so he could pursue his career in politics. The entire thing had left a sour taste in his mouth for long term relationships. He didn't want to have feel that kind of loss ever again.
He inhaled deeply and pushed that thought aside. No more thoughts of heartbreak. And certainly none about disappointment. The gala was about fun and he was determined to enjoy himself.
