Seducing His Brother's Best Friend by E. A. Reynolds. An Interracial, Paranormal, M/M Erotic Romance.

A little bit about Seducing His Brother’s-Friend:

This is a romance story of an incubus demon who’s finally found his mate. Ennis can be a very dangerous demon as being a demon he would be. However, romantically, he could be a nightmare.

His breed of incubus is known to stalk and kill their mates if their mates reject them. Ennis is also an electricity wielding demon who is the guardian of the city he lives in. It is his job to protect the city from other supernatural threats. The greatest threat is another incubus who always kills those he feeds off of.

Ennis Wayfaire is everything Jase Kinney has ever wanted. So, one evening armed with a plan, Jase heads to Ennis’s home to give him a lap dance that ends in desire unrequited.  With his plans thwarted by his over-protective brother, and Ennis’s apparent lack of real interest, Jase decides to let it go.

Ennis is an incubus who’s hungered for Jase for almost ten years. However, his friendship with Jase’s brother, and Jase’s age have kept him from making a move. Then, Jase’s lap dance ignited a hunger in the incubus that refused to be extinguished.

As their passion flares, Jase becomes the target of an incubus hit man after Jase witnesses a murder. It is up to Ennis to save him, but a single revelation of the danger Ennis is incites fear and confusion in Jase that has him pushing Ennis away.

The hit man intends to make sure Jase doesn’t get a second chance.

Excerpt:

Ennis pulled into the parking of Jase’s studio only moments after he saw go him inside. Part of him knew this was a bad idea. He was so attracted to Jase there would be no simple fling or evening of wild sex. Once he started with him, there would be no working Jase out of his system, only drawing him deeper into it.

He had a feeling that Jase was his mate and allowing that link to form could be a doorway to heaven or a stairway to hell. If he fell in love and Jase rejected him…He didn’t even want to admit to himself he could harm Jase. However, as he rapped on the glass door, he knew that’s exactly what could happen.

He already wanted Jase way too much and last night’s lap dance had broken his resolve to stay away. He watched as Jase came to a stop half-way to the door. Now, was the time for Jase to send him away. If he didn’t, he wasn’t going to walk away. He was going to claim Jase as his own.

Anger snapped in Jase’s eyes as he unlocked the door and pulled it open. His demon fed off that fire. It stemmed from a sensual part of Jase that was calling to him. And the demon inside of him met Jase’s gaze answering the call.

“What do you want?” Jase asked softly, not meeting Ennis’s stare.

“I want to come in obviously, Jase,” he said, amusement wrapping around his words. Tell me no. Don’t let the demon into your life, part of Ennis pleaded.

The willingness to let Jase go if Jase couldn’t handle what he was wouldn’t last.

The demon’s moral compass was skewed in many ways, and it would break after a few days of loneliness when he knew his mate was alive and merely rejecting him. He would destroy them both in his pursuit to get Jase back.

Don’t let us in, Ennis pleaded silently.

Jase stepped back and shoved his hands into his pockets. “Look, you don’t have to tell me to stay away,” he said and there was something so quintessentially wounded in his tone it stabbed Ennis in the heart. “I got the picture last night when you didn’t even bring me my keys.”

“Hey, sweet sexy boy, look at me.”

He lifted his gaze to meet Ennis’s.

“I brought you breakfast,” Ennis said, holding up a white bag. “I thought we could talk.” Talk? That was demon speak for foreplay.

Jase studied him with wary eyes and Ennis wondered if he could sense the presence of the demon watching him. “Show me to your office,” Ennis commanded.

Jase led the way down the hallway to his office which was at the back of the studio. “What did you bring for breakfast?”

“I stopped at that bakery you like and picked up the croissants and Danish you love.” He followed Jase to the futon across from his desk and set the bags on the coffee table.

“I’m going to wash up,” Jase said. He disappeared into the bathroom, and Ennis sat down in the semi-darkened room and removed his shades and placed them on the table.

Jase returned and went to the window. “Sorry about it being so dark in here. I just got here.”

“Leave it, sweetness,” Ennis urged. The sun was hard on his eyes.

Jase gave him a curious look, but left the shade down. He sat down next to him on the futon.

“You have pretty eyes, Jase,” he murmured.

“Oh,” he croaked out and tore his eyes guiltily away and fished breakfast from the bag. “Why are you doing this?” he said after taking a bite of a cherry Danish. “I got the point last night. You didn’t have to bring me breakfast to tell me you really aren’t interested in me.”

“I brought you breakfast because I wanted to see you, Jase,” Ennis told him. He needed to see him. Last night’s kiss had been the start of an addiction he didn’t want to fight.

“I don’t just want to be one of your men of the hour,” Jase said softly. “I need more than that from you.”

“Jase, there are things about me that I’m trying to protect you from.” He wanted to protect him from the part of him that had left the hickeys on his neck last night.

“Like what?” he demanded. “I know your job can be dangerous sometimes.”

“True, but that’s not what I’m talking about.” Ennis gave him a tight smile as he reached out and caressed Jase’s jaw. “We can’t get involved, Jase. It might—”

“It might what?” He held a croissant to Ennis’s lips. “It might be good?” he teased. So, he was going to make one more play. The only person getting his feelings crushed would be him.

Ennis smiled and took a bite. “Based on how sweet you were last night—yeah. It might.”

“But I’m a risk you don’t want to take,” he said as Ennis finished off the bread.

“Oh, make no mistake, I’m going to take the risk, Jase, but I’m giving you a chance to rethink this.”

“I’m not confused about what I want. If I was, I wouldn’t have come over to your place last night.” He put a hand on Ennis’s thigh. “I wouldn’t have come on to you at Milligan’s the night before, and I certainly wouldn’t have given you a lap dance.”

Ennis wound his hand around Jase’s thick braid and tugged his head back. “Good because I want you too.”

Dangerous Games by E. A. Reynolds- A Paranormal M/M Interracial Erotic Romance Plus Excerpt

We welcome E.A. Reynolds as she tells us about her latest book...

About the True Psy Series

Dangerous Games is the fourth book in my True Psy Series. It’s the continuing story of the Psy cop Atienne Mandarin and his lover Psychic Doc Kinsey Lane as they attempt destroy part of what they call the regime. The regime is built of two visible figures, Sands, the High Councilor and his side-kick Jenkins. Their accomplice the Joker makes a triad of trouble.

The series has so far mostly focused on Jenkins and his desire for power at all costs including betraying those who think his is their ally. Jenkins has a long history with Kinsey and it is Jenkins Kinsey and Atienne are out to bring down in this thrilling action installment of True Psy.

The True Psy Series itself is a spinoff of Psychic Docs and was inspired by my fascination with the ability of the human spirit to triumph over oppression. The series seems dark and full of violence but it is about men finding love amid that violence and betrayal. The intention is to show the complexity of human nature as well as the will to survive in spite of oppressive odds.

On the other hand, the theme of the overall series is love conquers all. I think that’s illustrated in Dangerous Games when Kinsey accepts that Atienne loves him. He stops struggling with his past and decides to put it behind him by killing the monster that’s been lurking in the darkness of his mind for years.

The series is built on two distinct factions of the Psy community. The Separatists who are merely gay men living under their own governmental rule in small communities called colonies. The other faction is the True Psy or the mainstream Psy community that is straight. The straight faction seeks to destroy not only the GLBT of the Separatist community but the GLBT of the mainstream Psy community as well. Therein a war has begun that can only end one way and mass genocide is only part of the story.

Blurb:

Kinsey is free of the chains of the Dead Zone, but the war isn’t over. An old enemy rises to make one last play and there is only one way to defeat him.

Atienne knows Kinsey’s battered heart still needs to be treated tenderly. However, the seductive game is put on hold when Atienne’s brother is kidnapped and the only way to get him back is to trade Kinsey.

Kinsey refuses to allow Atienne’s brother to die, so he agrees to the trade accepting that he might die at the enemy’s hands. But Atienne isn’t prepared to give up the man he loves. Together they begin a dangerous game of systematically dismantling the enemy’s power base.

But the game has dangerous consequences that threaten to bring the Separatist Community its knees and tear Kinsey and Atienne part.  A bold ambush by the enemy forces Kinsey and Atienne to make a last stand that will change everything.

Story Excerpt

Kiri disabled the system from the edge of the lawn and Atienne interrupted the dark magic webs. Kinsey scanned and found three minds on the premises. The minds were beat squad soldiers.

“Anyone inside?” Kiri asked.

“Four minds,” Kinsey answered.

“Let’s get to work,” Atienne said grimly as they headed up the driveway to the house. A few towering trees cast shadows over the grass, but there was no cover as they made their way up to the house.

Kinsey stared up at the narrow windows and saw a woman looking down at them. She would inform Jenkins, but what did that matter. If he came running so much the better, but he doubted Jenkins would show.

Once they reached the front porch, Kiri said, “We can do this one of two ways. We can set charges here at the front of the house or we can break in and go around back and set charges there as well.”

Kinsey frowned, but he saw the privacy fence that was nearly obscured by bushes.  “I want them all the way around the house, he said. “Atienne and I will take the back.”

Atienne gave him an approving look and Kinsey smiled feeling determination flood.

“Okay,” Kiri said with a nod. She nodded to the man standing to her right. “Watch their backs. Are we using spells and crystals for explosives?”

“We are,” Kinsey agreed.

“Best thing we can do is a controlled burned,” Kiri said. “Keep the neighbors from losing their property. So, we can do the flash fire bomb spell or we can do the dragon’s breath spell.”

“I don’t know the flash fire spell,” Atienne said. “I’m prepared to do the dragon’s breath with a cayenne kick.”

Kiri nodded. “Then, I’ll use jaspers to mimick the effect with the crystals. I’ll set my timer for five minutes?”
“Five is good,” Kinsey said. No matter what he wanted this place gone. The fire would help to purge the grounds a little. “Can you do a cleansing a later?”

“I don’t do those,” she told him. “I’ll send a two person team that does.”

Kinsey headed around back with Atienne ahead of him and Kiri’s man’s at his back. He could feel the malicious energy waiting to attack them. Mentally, he prepared himself for what he was certain was to come. He’d have to kill the portal opener. Jenkins would certainly be using one to ensure this place was not destroyed. It had been as close to a sanctuary as the man could have.

They rounded the back to find four beat squad soldiers waiting for them. Kinsey immediately cut off all thoughts and went into battle mode.

The first shot was a pyrokinetic one, and Kinsey moved to take point against her. Atienne deflected her fire. Kinsey moved turned to dual with a metokinetic fire bronze at them. He sent a stream of hydro-kinetic energy straight to the ground after ducking and directed it up in a hard jet that slammed into the attacker’s shoulder. It turned to ice that was sharply driven into the man’s shoulder.

Kinsey moved to one side to avoid a bronze spike and found himself being telekinetically shoved to the ground. He rolled came up firing at the kinetic, but the man was already down. He turned his attention to the metal thrower who was firing off shots at the witch. He sent a spike of ice into the male’s leg before sending shards of icy into his chest.

The metokinetic let out a harsh cry and collapsed to the ground.

“Too easy,” the witch said.

No sooner had the words left his lips than kinetic energy was fired at them from the roof and a portal shimmered into life behind them. Kinsey waited until the portal opened and commenced firing icy jets of water.

The first one through was a female who fell immediately. Kinsey moved closer to the portal while the fighting raged behind him as Atienne and the witch dealt with the shooters on the roof.

                                              ****

“Do not close this portal,” Jenkins ordered Marcus Oaklyn. “If you do I will kill your ass right here.”

“If you don’t quick fucking with me, I won’t have the focus to keep it open,” he snapped back.

Jenkins moved in behind the team, he was going to take care of Kinsey Lane once and for all. With the distraction of the soldier’s he’d never see the telepathic attack coming.

He sent out a strong telepathic blast and heard Lane’s cry. He saw him through the portal as he clenched at his head. A malicious grin played on his lips as he sent out a harder blast. This one should knock out his shields.

He heard a scream and saw one of his soldiers fall.

“No,” Marcus said. “Get back!”

Jenkins ignored him. “Shut the fuck up coward.”

Marcus knocked him out of the way and Jenkins growled as they hit t he ground, but his eyes widened as the team members left in the portal collapsed.

Ice began drifting back toward them hard and fast. “Close it!” Jenkins ordered. The damned blast would end them both.

Marcus didn’t have to be told twice, but before the portal closed ice cut across Jenkin’s face burning into the skin making him howl in agony.

“I’m going to kill that fucking bastard!” He snarled as he got to his feet.

“Yeah, I bet,” Marcus said as he moved back to the monitor.

Jenkins joined him and watched as Kinsey and Atienne laid charges around the base of his sanctuary.
